Works for Taxes: Urban mobility in Apurimac will be improved for almost 1 million soles
Lima, June 24, 2025.- The Private Investment Promotion Agency (PROINVERSIÓN) and the District Municipality of Caraybamba (Apurímac) signed a technical assistance agreement to identify and develop Works for Taxes (OxI) projects, such as the urban mobility improvement project in vehicular and pedestrian trafficability, which the municipality has prioritized for S/ 837,986.
Through this agreement, the agency also commits to provide training and support to the District Municipality of Caraybamba in the preparation and dissemination of the investments and/or activities in the OxI portfolio, while the municipality of Caraybamba must coordinate with the agency the actions aimed at strengthening the capacities of its officials and technical team in charge of the investment projects under its jurisdiction.
At the agreement signing ceremony, which was attended by the head of PROINVERSIÓN, Luis Del Carpio; the district mayor of Caraybamba, Jhon Anchayhua Segoviau and the director of Decentralized Investments, Denisse Miralles, the importance of the OxI mechanism to accelerate the closing of gaps in the town of Apurimac was highlighted.
In this regard, the executive director of PROINVERSIÓN, Luis del Carpio, emphasized that with the signing of this agreement, the agency offers the municipality of Caraybamba a team with experience in OxI with the objective of achieving the infrastructure that the population needs, especially with this mechanism that allows advancing investments that would have to be made in the future.
The mayor, Jhon Anchayhua, thanked PROINVERSIÓN for its willingness to carry out his prioritized urban mobility improvement project. He also expressed his desire to continue identifying new Works for Taxes projects in favor of his neighbors.
From 2009 to May 2025, 710 Works for Taxes projects have been awarded for a cumulative value of S/ 12,839 million in education, health, public safety, transport, among others. In the same period, a total of 285 public entities have used the mechanism to generate infrastructure and public services to improve the quality of life of 22 million Peruvians.
