PROINVERSIÓN promotes new hospitals to decentralize health services
Lima, June 28, 2025.- One of the main demands of the citizens is to have access to an effective medical care service at the time they need it, which is why PROINVERSIÓN, in coordination with the regional governments, has been supporting hospital projects not only in the capital city but also in the interior of the country.
Along these lines, the executive director of the entity, Luis Del Carpio, announced that to date there will be at least three (3) new operation and maintenance projects for 3 hospitals in the region of Loreto, allowing to reduce the gaps in access to quality health care in regions with the most vulnerable populations.
"Next week we will be in Loreto to announce the new PPP projects in health, which consist of providing operation and maintenance to three hospitals that serve more than 1 million Loreto residents. This is possible thanks to the work of the regional governments, provincial and district mayors, who expressed their interest in the development of their regions," he added.
Precisely, the agreement that PROINVERSIÓN will sign with the Regional Government of Loreto will allow the development of 3 projects to guarantee the sustainability of the investment of S/ 1,800 million in the Santa Gema Hospital in Yurimaguas, César Garayar and Felipe Arriola Iglesias, in Iquitos.
- Santa Gema Hospital: Its new infrastructure, currently in operation, has 22,500 m2 and benefits more than 70,000 people in Yurimaguas (Alto Amazonas province).
- César Garayar García Hospital in Iquitos: The delivery of its new 23,650 m2 infrastructure is scheduled for the second half of this year, including 9,915 new equipment and furniture, with a total updated investment of S/ 482.5 million.
- Felipe Santiago Arriola Iglesias Regional Hospital: Currently, the technical file has been approved for its new infrastructure of 40,386 m2 and 20,711 new equipment and furniture, for an updated investment of S/ 1,159 million.
PROINVERSIÓN will carry out the technical, socio-environmental, legal and economic-financial studies, as well as develop the international public tender to select the operator or operators that will be in charge of the “gray coat” services in each of the hospitals, so that the health personnel can provide uninterrupted quality hospital services that Loreto residents deserve.
