PROINVERSIÓN AND THE REGIONAL COMMUNITY OF THE ANDES PROMOTE 85 PROJECTS FOR MORE THAN S/ 8300 MLLS
Lima, February 25, 2025.- Intending to promote sustainable development in the regions, the Regional Commonwealth of the Andes made up of Apurímac, Ayacucho, Cusco, Huancavelica, Ica and Junín, presented 85 investment projects through Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), Projects in Assets (PAs) and Works for Taxes, with a total investment of S/ 8341 million.
At the event “Investment Opportunities for Projects in the Regional Commonwealth of the Andes”, organized by the Private Investment Promotion Agency (PROINVERSIÓN) and the Commonwealth, the six-member regions highlighted investment opportunities in key sectors such as health, education, road infrastructure, markets, processing centers, packing plants, convention centers and cable cars.
The Regional Government of Apurímac presented six projects through Works for Taxes, with an investment of S/ 108 million. Ayacucho presented 12 projects in the same modality, for S/ 1443 million. Cusco announced 19 projects, including one initiative under the Projects in Assets modality, for S/ 80 million, and 18 under Works for Taxes, for S/ 334 million.
The Regional Government of Huancavelica presented 18 projects, with eight in Projects in Assets for S/ 328 million and 10 in Works for Taxes, for S/ 408 million. Ica showed six projects in Works for Taxes, with an investment of S/ 662 million.
In turn, the Regional Government of Junín announced 24 projects: four in PPP (S/ 760 million), four in Projects in Assets (S/ 178 million) and 16 in Works for Taxes (S/ 4041 million).
The event was inaugurated by the Minister of Economy and Finance, José Salardi, who highlighted the joint work with the regions to promote investment projects for the benefit of the population.
The executive director of PROINVERSIÓN, Luis Del Carpio, stressed that the mechanisms of PPP, Projects in Assets and Works for Taxes are key tools to reduce the infrastructure gap in the country. He stressed the importance of strengthening trust between the public and private sectors to encourage more investments in the regions and reaffirmed PROINVERSIÓN's commitment to provide technical support to make these projects a reality.
For his part, Jesús Quispe, executive director of the Regional Commonwealth of the Andes, underlined the multisectoral effort to generate more development opportunities.
The project portfolios presented by the regions are part of a coordinated effort by PROINVERSIÓN and the technical teams of each of the regions to identify investment potential in PPPs and Projects in Assets. This will allow the authorities to have projects articulated to the National Infrastructure Plan to generate development and position the country and its regions as an attractive investment market.
At the Forum, PROINVERSIÓN presented a portfolio of 20 PPP projects for US$ 5.5 billion, with awards scheduled for 2025-2026. These include Sections 4 of the Longitudinal de la Sierra, the Choquequirao Cable Cars and the Third Group of Airports.
In addition, the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) presented the progress of the New Central Highway, railway projects and airport investments; and the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM) presented the status and prospects of the Natural Gas Massification Project.
This event reinforces PROINVERSIÓN's decentralization strategy, promoting projects with high social impact and regional development.
