PROINVERSIÓN CALLS FOR BIDS ON FOUR ELECTRICITY PROJECTS FOR US$ 137 MILLION
Lima, February 2, 2024.- The Private Investment Promotion Agency (PROINVERSIÓN) announced the international public tender for the concession of four (4) electricity projects, for approximately US$ 137 million, that will benefit 2.3 million people from the departments of Lima, Arequipa, Apurimac and Puno.
These are the following projects:
- 220 kV Palca New Substation, 220 kV Palca-La Pascana Transmission Line, extensions and Associated Substations (Arequipa) (ITC Project).
- “220 kV Planicie – Industriales Link, extension to III circuit (ITC Project).
- 138 kV Abancay Nueva – Andahuaylas Link, extensions and associated substations (ITC Project)
- 138 kV Derivación San Rafael - Ananea Link, extensions and associated substations (ITC Project)
These projects -grouped in Group 3 - will be awarded in concession under the Comprehensive Project Tender modality to the single bidder whose offer represents the lowest Total Service Cost, as established in the bidding terms, and whose obligation will be to design, finance, build, operate and maintain the aforementioned projects.
These projects are promoted by PROINVERSIÓN under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) modality on behalf of the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM). They are part of the package of 18 projects that the MINEM entrusted to PROINVERSIÓN in February 2023, within the framework of the 2023 - 2032 Transmission Plan. Group 1 (three projects) was put out for bid in September 2023 and Group 2 (five projects) in August 2023.
The Bidding Terms of the Tender, which contain the conditions and requirements to participate, together with the corresponding schedule of activities and the guarantees to be submitted, as well as the draft contracts, are available to interested parties at PROINVERSIÓN's institutional website (https://www.investinperu.pe/en/app/DatosProyecto?idAPProyecto=681).
The execution of the four (4) projects will strengthen the supply of electricity in Lima, Arequipa, Apurímac and Puno, providing reliability and greater electricity transmission capacity, which will contribute to the promotion of industrial, commercial and service activities.
