PROINVERSIÓN: JUNÍN HAS MORE THAN S/ 1.3 BILLION TO CARRY OUT WORKS FOR TAXES
Lima, May 15, 2024.- In the Junín region, the Private Investment Promotion Agency – PROINVERSIÓN held working meetings with various regional and local authorities to provide technical advice and promote initiatives through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP), Projects in Assets (PA) and Works for Taxes (OxI) mechanisms.
Precisely, the maximum ceiling of the public entities of the Department of Junín for the issuance of Certificates of Regional and Local Public Investment-Public Treasury (CIPRL) that allows the execution of projects and investments through Works for Taxes (OxI), amounts to more than S/ 1 303 million, that is, the Regional Government has S/ 974.1 million; Local Governments S/ 300.3 million and Public Universities, S/ 28.5 million, respectively.
To date, in the Junín region, 14 projects have been executed through the Works for Taxes mechanism for S/ 113 million in transport, education, sanitation, public order and public safety, among others.
In addition, the agency has identified with the regional authorities four other potential works that could be executed through Projects in Assets (PA) for US$ 28.6 million in trade and tourism, such as the Yauris Convention Center and Fairground, the Regional Center for Technological Innovation of Cocoa, the Great Producers' Market of the Junín Region, and Tourism Services in the Otishi National Park.
PROJECTS IN PORTFOLIO
In 2024, PROINVERSIÓN plans to award the Longitudinal de la Sierra Section 4 (US$ 1 180 million) in Junín; the Huancayo-Huancavelica Railway (US$ 394 million) and Group 4 of electrical transmission projects: 138-60 KV Reliability Increase of the Tarma - Chanchamayo Electric System (US$ 15 million)
The Huancayo Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) will be awarded a US$ 172 million concession for the construction of the project, which will benefit the towns of Huancayo, El Tambo, Chilca, Huancán, Huayucachi, Huacrapuquio and Viques, if no third party is interested.
In this city, in the center of the country, the advisor to the Executive Directorate of PROINVERSIÓN, Carlos Benites, led a technical team that visited authorities of the regional government of Junín; as well as the provincial municipalities of Huancayo and Concepción to jointly analyze the progress of different initiatives through PPPs, Projects in Assets and Works for Taxes.
