PROINVERSIÓN and MINJUSDH present a portfolio of projects to strengthen the justice sector
Lima, May 16, 2025.- The Private Investment Promotion Agency – PROINVERSIÓN, and the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights (MINJUSDH) presented an investment portfolio of 36 projects that could be financed and executed through the Works for Taxes (OxI) modality, with an investment exceeding S/ 2,646 million that will directly impact the community, providing greater security and improving the quality of life of citizens.
These OxI projects will benefit the regions of Piura, La Libertad, Junín, Huánuco, Lima, Callao, Ica, Arequipa, Moquegua, Tacna, Puno, Loreto, Amazonas, and Ucayali, among others, as announced at the promotional event – “OxI: Closing the gaps in the Justice sector", which was attended by the President of the Council of Ministers, Eduardo Arana Ysa, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Raúl Pérez Reyes, the Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Juan Alcántara Medrano, and the Executive Director of PROINVERSIÓN, Luis del Carpio Castro.
From this portfolio, 18 investments emerge, totaling S/1,377 million, led by the National Penitentiary Institute of Peru (INPE), which includes the acquisition of inhibitors that will block the signal of electronic devices such as cell phones and radios in detention centers; the purchase of vehicles for the transportation of inmates and personnel; the acquisition of penitentiary inspection systems and video surveillance monitoring; as well as the construction and expansion of prisons in Ica, Trujillo, Piura, Ancón, Bagua Grande and Venado Pampa, among others.
For its part, the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights (MINJUSH) has identified 12 Work for Taxes investments, among which stand out 4 projects for the social reintegration of adolescents, public defense and access to justice; while SUNARP registers 6 investments for the improvement and expansion of registration offices in its regional headquarters in Lambayeque, Lima, La Libertad and Ica, among others.
At the event, the head of PROINVERSIÓN, Luis Del Carpio, specified: "Thanks to the Works for Taxes mechanism, we are accelerating investments that can no longer be postponed and that, on the contrary, demand urgent coordination between the State and the private sector."
These projects were presented to entrepreneurs, with the aim of capturing the attention of the private financial sector interested in investing in the development of the aforementioned portfolio.
