PROINVERSIÓN WILL AWARD 19 PROJECTS IN THE CENTRAL MACRO REGION FOR US$ 6 BILLION BETWEEN 2025-2027
Junín, January 15, 2025.- Decentralized actions. The Private Investment Promotion Agency - PROINVERSIÓN will promote 19 projects in the Central Macro Region for US$ 6 billion to be awarded in the 2025 - 2027 portfolio through Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) and Projects in Assets (PA), said the Director of the Decentralized Investments Division, Denisse Miralles.
In Junín, before investors convened by the Chamber of Commerce of Huancayo, Miralles highlighted the investment opportunities that exist in six regions that make up the Central Macro Region: Apurímac, Ayacucho, Cusco, Huancavelica, Ica and Junín, mainly in Transport, Electricity, Sanitation, Tourism and Education.
Regarding this package, Miralles explained that 14 projects correspond to the Transport sector for US$ 5,247 million (roads and the third group of airports), two in Sanitation for US$ 222 million (Huancayo and Cusco WWTP), one in Tourism for US$ 265 million (Choquequirao Cable Car), one in Electricity for US$ 133 million (Group 3) and one in Education for US$ 62 million (construction of schools in Cusco).
In addition, in her presentation, she mentioned that in 2025 another 13 projects are expected to be awarded in the Central Macro Region under Works for Taxes (OxI) for S/ 323 million. In this case, the largest investment corresponds to Cusco through four projects in education, management and security for S/ 135 million, followed by Ica with two projects of up to S/ 108 million, among others.
Investments in Junín
Regarding the results in Junín, Denisse Miralles said that the agency awarded 10 projects in this region for US$ 646 million in Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) and Projects in Assets (PA) in the period 2022 - 2024.
Meanwhile, in Works for Taxes, between 2009 -2024, 16 projects were granted for S/ 125 million in Transport, Education and Citizen Safety, among others.
It should be noted that the Junín region has a potential CIPRL of S/ 1,532 million so that regional and local governments and public universities can develop Works for Taxes to reduce the infrastructure gap, mainly in a decentralized manner.
The 2025-2027 portfolio includes seven PPP and PA projects for US$ 2,851, of which more than US$ 1.5 billion will impact the Junín region, mainly for works such as the Longitudinal de la Sierra Section 4, the Huancayo WWTP, and the Chanchamayo and Concepción Sanitation Services, among others.
Meanwhile, the OXI portfolio in 2025 includes two projects for S/ 22 million for the acquisition of ambulances by the Regional Government. In this case, PROINVERSIÓN continues with its decentralized strategy of providing technical advice to authorities and companies on the operation of the Works for Taxes mechanism, which closed in 2024 with awards for S/ 4.2 billion nationwide, the highest figure in 16 years.
