PROINVERSIÓN WILL AWARD FOUR PROJECTS IN THE NEXT TWO MONTHS FOR MORE THAN US$ 1.7 BILLION
Lima, June 14, 2024.- In the next two months, the Private Investment Promotion Agency – PROINVERSIÓN plans to award four investment projects in Public-Private Partnership and Projects in Assets that will generate investments of US$ 1 761 million in electricity, transport, mining and sanitation in the country.
Indeed, between June 15 and August 15, it is planned to award three projects in Public-Private Partnership (PPP) for US$ 821 million and one through Projects in Assets for US$ 940 million.
By June 24, the agency is scheduled to award Group 1 of Electrical. It consists of three substations and transmission lines to be developed in Ica and Arequipa, which will benefit more than 1 million inhabitants with safe and quality electricity, with an investment of US$ 329 million.
Likewise, the addendum to the contract for the transfer of the Bayóvar No. 9 mining concession for the exploitation of phosphoric rock will be signed, with an investment commitment of US$ 940 million, a work that will have an important impact on the country, especially in the peasant community of San Martín de Sechura (Piura).
In July, the agency will award the modernization of the Huancayo - Huancavelica Railway for US$ 394 million, the project will benefit 1.2 million inhabitants of Junín and Huancavelica. To date, the tender has three pre-qualified bidders to submit technical and economic proposals in the act of successful bid and take care of the financing, construction, acquisition of rolling stock, operation and maintenance of the railway.
Also in July, the Wastewater Treatment Plant - Puerto Maldonado WWTP (Madre de Dios) would be awarded, with an investment of US$ 98 million for the benefit of 120 thousand inhabitants of the province of Tambopata and the El Triunfo district.
ADVANCE IN 2024
It should be considered that so far in 2024, PROINVERSIÓN has awarded two projects for US$ 3.8 billion, such as the New San Juan de Marcona Port Terminal (US$ 405 million) that will reactivate investments for US$ 15 billion in the south of the country and will impact economic growth, as well as the Peripheral Ring Road (US$ 3.4 billion) that will connect 12 districts of Lima and Callao, benefiting 4.5 million people.
