AWARDS OF WORKS FOR TAXES IN THE FIRST QUARTER SET A RECORD
Lima, April 7, 2025.- The Private Investment Promotion Agency (PROINVERSIÓN) reports that in the first quarter of 2025, project awards through the Works for Taxes (OxI) mechanism set a historic record.
In the first quarter of 2025, public entities (ministries, regional governments, local governments, and public universities) awarded 64 investments worth S/ 387 million. The amount awarded is 133% more than in the first quarter of 2024 (S/ 166 million).
"The results achieved in the first quarter of 2025 reflect the commitment of the public entities that own the projects, PROINVERSIÓN, and the Ministry of Economy and Finance to promote and develop quality infrastructure and public services as quickly as possible," said PROINVERSIÓN Executive Director Luis Del Carpio.
Between January and March 2025, 21 public entities from 15 regions have awarded investments through Work for Taxes, benefiting 329,000 Peruvians. Notable entities include La Libertad (S/ 81 million), Arequipa (S/ 55 million), and Cajamarca (S/ 47 million).

Among the main projects awarded are the Improvement and Expansion of Local Public Safety Services, by the District Municipality of Alto Selva Alegre (Arequipa), for S/ 32 million; the Improvement and Expansion of Postgraduate Education Services at the Superior Naval War School in La Punta (Callao), by the Ministry of Defense (MINDEF), for S/ 30 million; and the Secondary Education Service in the Educational Institution - I.E. Maria Goretti de Pacasmayo, awarded by the Regional Government of La Libertad, for S/ 30 million.
It should be noted that Works for Taxes is a form of public investment that allows high-quality projects to be carried out quickly with the participation of private companies. This mechanism has become the most effective, transparent, and rapid way to execute public investments in the regions.
The award target for this year is to exceed the S/ 4.2 billion achieved in 2024. In line with this, the award projection for April is over S/ 200 million, which will contribute to achieving this goal.
In addition, we have 373 investments totaling S/ 10 658 million that are seeking private companies, of which 20 investments totaling S/ 666 million have already completed the first phases of the mechanism and are ready to be called upon as soon as interest is received from the private sector.
To achieve this goal, PROINVERSIÓN has been providing free advice and technical assistance to public entities and information to more private companies so that they continue to join this mechanism and we can advance the country's development together.
