The executive director of PROINVERSIÓN, José Salardi, said that at the beginning of 2023 there was a fairly important turning point for unpacking transmission projects and electrical substations.
Now, 24 months later, nearly all the projects commissioned by the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM) within the framework of the 2023 – 2032 Transmission Plan have been awarded, "which has made it possible to regain the trust of local and international investors," said Salardi.
The awarded projects seek to strengthen the energy infrastructure and provide a better home service and also to industrial, commercial and service companies in Amazonas, Ancash, Arequipa, Ayacucho, Cajamarca, Huánuco, Ica, Junín, La Libertad, Lambayeque, Lima, Piura, San Martín and Ucayali.

Added to this result is the US$1,369 million of investment that was disbursed in 2023 through 10 awarded projects, including the 500 kV Piura Nueva – Frontera Substation Transmission Line (US$223 million), which will improve security and supply capacity between Peru and Ecuador, as well as the Huánuco-Tocache-Celendín-Trujillo and Celendín-Piura links (US$833 million), aimed at strengthening the National Interconnected Electrical System.
Through these processes, PROINVERSIÓN reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the electrical infrastructure necessary to bring energy continuously, reliably and sustainably to the country.
