Lima, March 22, 2025.- The Private Investment Promotion Agency (PROINVERSIÓN) and the Urban Transport Authority for Lima and Callao (ATU) signed an inter-institutional agreement that will allow the identification and development of urban transport and mass mobility infrastructure projects for Lima and Callao through Public-Private Partnerships (PPP).
The agreement was signed by the executive director of PROINVERSIÓN, Luis Del Carpio, and the executive president of the ATU, David Hernández. The ceremony was also attended by the Minister of Economy and Finance, José Salardi.
In this regard, Luis Del Carpio, head of PROINVERSIÓN, emphasized that the agency is committed to the population and that the use of PPPs will accelerate closing the country's infrastructure gap. In this context, he stressed that work will be carried out on cable cars for the districts of El Agustino and San Juan de Lurigancho, as well as transportation corridors, among other projects, under private investment mechanisms, in order to improve the quality of life of the citizens of Lima and Callao.
On the other hand, he informed that work is underway to expand and modernize Line 1 of the Lima Metro, as well as the structuring of Lines 3 and 4 of the Metro. The goal is to ensure that these infrastructures are viable and financeable by the State.
