THIS MONTH MTC WILL CALL FOR TENDER FOR THE SANTA ROSA BRIDGE THAT WILL CONNECT TO THE JORGE CHÁVEZ
Lima, October 12, 2023.- The Private Investment Promotion Agency (PROINVERSIÓN) and the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) organized the "Presentation of the Santa Rosa Bridge Project" event aimed at private companies interested in financing this important project through the Works for Taxes (OxI) mechanism.
The MTC, the owner of the Santa Rosa Bridge project, announced that this month it will hold the second call for tenders in order to award the project in the following months.
The Santa Rosa Bridge project was declared viable by the MTC in March 2023, it will provide adequate traffic conditions in the access to Jorge Chávez Airport, which will allow integration with the development of air transportation and with the rest of the world.
This important initiative will require an estimated investment of S/ 346 million. It will directly benefit 30 million domestic and foreign passengers per year, as well as the residents of Callao because it will help reduce traffic congestion.
“The project includes the construction of the bridge, access, traffic circle and overpasses. The bridge will have a length of 65 meters, with a width of 18.90 meters, over the Rímac River. The traffic circle will allow the interconnection between the Santa Rosa Bridge, Santa Rosa Expressway and Morales Duárez Avenue. All this will contribute to the flow of traffic to the new terminal of Jorge Chávez International Airport", highlighted the Minister of Transport and Communications, Raúl Pérez Reyes.
PROINVERSIÓN has been providing technical and legal assistance to the MTC team so that the project can be put out to public tender and awarded in a short period of time.
The event was attended by more than 100 representatives of private companies and consultants who asked questions about this important project, which were answered by the MTC. The meeting was attended, in addition to the Minister of Transport and Communications, by the Deputy Minister of Transport of the MTC, Ismael Sutta, and the Director of the Decentralized Investments of PROINVERSIÓN, Denisse Miralles.
