PUNO BETS ON PUBLIC-PRIVATE INVESTMENT AND PRESENTS 23 PROJECTS FOR MORE THAN S/ 4,000 MILLION
Lima, November 30, 2023.- The Private Investment Promotion Agency (PROINVERSIÓN) -in coordination with the Regional Government of Puno, the provincial municipalities of Puno and San Román (Juliaca), and the district of Ananea- organized the "Puno Invierte" Forum to attract potential investors to the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects, Projects in Assets and Works for Taxes promoted by the entities of Puno.
In total, the Regional Government of Puno and the aforementioned municipalities presented 21 PPP and Projects in Assets for an investment amount of more than S/ 4,000 million, and two Works for Taxes projects (Ananea district). These are high-impact projects whose execution will strengthen the economic growth and sustainable development of the department, improving the quality of life of its inhabitants. The list includes projects for shopping centers, airports, hospital waste plants, railway terminals, land terminals, production centers, recreational parks, vehicle parking lots, food markets, sports villages, handicraft complexes, fairgrounds, zonal parks, cable cars, abattoirs, port facilities and educational services.
The Regional Government of Puno presented a total of five (5) PPP and Projects in Assets for S/ 2,620 million. The following projects stand out: The creation of the Manko Qhapaq Puno Shopping Center, the creation of the Gran Collasuyo International Airport in the department of Puno, the creation of integrated management of solid hospital waste in the Puno region, and the Peru - Bolivia Railway Interconnection (Puno - Desaguadero).
The Provincial Municipality of Puno presented a total of five (5) Projects in Asserrs for S/ 123 million. The following projects stand out: Improvement of the Interregional Land Terminal, the Puno City Model Shopping Center, the Puno City Zonal Park, and the construction of the Puno City Supply Market.
The Provincial Municipality of San Román (Juliaca) presented a total of 11 projects for nearly S/ 1,300 million. The list includes the PPP project for the construction of the Cable Car in the city of Juliaca. In terms of Projects in Assets, the following projects stand out: The construction of the "Mi Videna" Sports Village for the Puno region, Construction of the Wholesale Market in Juliaca, the interregional Land Terminal in Juliaca and the Huaynaroque Dry Port.
The District Municipality of Ananea presented two Works for Taxes projects: Improvement of high school services at the San Francisco secondary school - Rinconada town center, district of Ananea, province of San Antonio de Putina (Puno), which will benefit schoolchildren in that district. As well as the project for the creation of a citizen security service in the district of Ananea.
The PPP projects, Projects in Assets and Works for Taxes presented were identified with the technical support of PROINVERSIÓN, within the framework of the decentralization strategy of the entity, which consists of providing technical support to subnational entities, transferring knowledge and identifying with them, projects of great social impact and public value.
The executive director of PROINVERSIÓN, José Salardi, emphasized that the projects presented mark the future route to be followed jointly by public entities and the private sector to generate infrastructure and public services for the benefit of people in Puno. The head of the agency highlighted the commitment of the authorities of Puno to promote private investment, after mentioning that the projects presented will receive technical support from PROINVERSIÓN.
The event was attended by the regional governor of Puno, Richard Hancco; the deputy mayor of the Provincial Municipality of Puno, Salvador Hancco; the mayor of the Provincial Municipality of San Román (Juliaca), Óscar Cáceres; the deputy mayor of the District Municipality of Ananea, Felipe Cóndor; and the executive director of PROINVERSIÓN, José Salardi.
The regional governor of Puno, Richard Hancco, reaffirmed his commitment to guarantee and provide legal security to private companies wishing to invest and generate economic and social development in the region. "I am committed to give social license and facilities to private investment. Puno will welcome you with open arms; we look forward to working together," he said.
For his part, the Deputy Mayor of the Provincial Municipality of Puno, Salvador Hancco, highlighted the work that PROINVERSIÓN, together with the Provincial Municipality, has been doing to generate private investment opportunities in the city of Puno. "It is time to bet on a different city, with a look to the future. This administration has shown, together with PROINVERSIÓN, that it is willing to take on new challenges, as in the case of the cable car tourism project for the city of Puno, which is already underway," he said.
The mayor of the Provincial Municipality of San Román (Juliaca), Óscar Cáceres, also called on private investment to invest in his province, which is commercial and a center that links the Puno region with the regions of Moquegua, Tacna, Arequipa and Puerto Maldonado. "We have several investment projects; in the case of Works for Taxes with a CIPRL of S/ 40 million," he added.
