PROINVERSIÓN SIGNS AGREEMENTS TO PROMOTE PROJECTS IN ASSETS IN AREQUIPA
Lima, July 14, 2023.- The Private Investment Promotion Agency (PROINVERSIÓN) signed agreements of Technical Collaboration with the district municipalities of La Joya and Alto Selva Alegre of Arequipa for the preparation of their Multiannual Reports in PPP (IMIAPP), in order to identify and promote Projects in Assets (PA) in key sectors such as social housing, public infrastructure, among others.
The purpose of the agreements, which will be developed in the modality of advice without funding, is to establish the framework of interinstitutional relations between PROINVERSIÓN and the municipalities of La Joya and Alto Selva Alegre, in accordance with Legislative Decree No. 1362 and its Regulations to identify initiatives through the modality of Projects in Assets.
The district mayor of La Joya, Christian Cuadros, said that his city council is firmly committed to attracting the necessary investments for La Joya and, in that sense, specified that the signing of this agreement will allow crystallizing projects to improve the services and quality of life of the local residents.
For his part, the district mayor of Alto Selva Alegre, Alfredo Benavente, indicated that his district is the third largest in the department of Arequipa and that this agreement will allow to develop new investment projects to realize sustainable economic and social development in favor of the families of the locality.
In turn, the executive director of PROINVERSIÓN, José Salardi, congratulated both authorities for promoting private investments in their districts, thanked the trust and reiterated the total willingness of the agency’s technical teams to identify and realize these Projects in Assets. He said that fieldwork would soon be carried out, in order to analyze all possible alternatives to support the revitalization of the local economy.
It should be noted that PROINVERSIÓN and the municipalities recognize that the information, statements, opinions or suggestions issued within the framework of the agreements, are not binding, so it is the responsibility of the municipalities to adopt the decisions and/or actions necessary for the development of the process of promoting private investment that is carried out, if appropriate.
