PROINVERSIÓN PROMOTES THE HUANCAYO - HUANCAVELICA RAILWAY (FHH) PROJECT ABROAD
Lima, March 22, 2023 - The Private Investment Promotion Agency (ProInversión) continues with its active investment promotion policy abroad. Project Director, Gian Carlos Silva, will present today at an event organized by RDN Global in Santiago de Chile the new general scope of the Huancayo-Huancavelica Railway (FHH) project.
Silva pointed out that the FHH project is at a fairly mature stage, as it currently has a well-defined and complete structure. Specifically, work is being done on two critical aspects identified by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB): updating the budget and revising the allocation of geological risk. It is believed that evaluating these two relevant points will generate greater interest on the part of the companies that are closely following the corresponding promotion process.
Its development will benefit 75,000 direct users in the regions of Junín and Huancavelica, facilitating access to health, education, labor and commercial centers and boosting the area's tourism and agricultural and livestock potential. "The goal we have is to reach December 2023 with the award of the project," said Gian Carlos Silva, Project Director.
In Brazil, ProInversión is also participating in the Expo Perú Latam - Brazil, within the framework of the Investment Forum organized in Sao Paulo (Brazil), where the PPP project portfolio is being promoted with special emphasis on the Transportation sector, which requires an estimated investment of US$ 4,092 million.
Among the projects that attracted the most attention were: The Longitudinal de la Sierra - section 4 (US$ 929 million), the Peripheral Ring Road (US$ 2 380 million) and the San Juan de Marcona Port Terminal (US$ 520 million). In addition, they highlighted the call for the next award of the Ancon Industrial Park (US$ 762 million) and the Cerro San Cristobal Cable Car (US$ 15.7 million).
In this regard, José Luis Rivera, specialist of the Special Projects Division, commented that the Longitudinal de la Sierra Section 4 project consists mainly of the rehabilitation and improvement of 180 km and the initial periodic maintenance of 770 km, in addition to a 5 km of avoidance road.
"This project will improve the quality of life of approximately 1.6 million inhabitants in the area of influence of the project, comprising the departments of Junin, Huancavelica, Ayacucho, Apurimac and Ica, increasing commercial, agricultural and tourism movement," he added.
On the other hand, the Director of Investor Services, Maria Susana Morales, participated last week as a panelist in the IJ LATAM Forum 2023 in Miami (USA), with an analysis of the evolution of private participation in infrastructure investment in Peru and mitigation of political risks through the structuring of projects that allow generating predictability in the long term.
At the same event, representatives of banks, investment funds, consultants and infrastructure project developers learned about PROINVERSIÓN's project portfolio and its contribution to closing infrastructure gaps during the 2023-2024 period.
Meanwhile, the Director of the Project Portfolio, Emerson Castro, presented the portfolio of PPP projects in sanitation during his participation in the World Water-Tech Innovation Summit and the International Market Workshop 2023, which was held in London, United Kingdom, on February 20 and 23, 2023.
During his stay, Emerson Castro held meetings with important English companies in the sector to present investment opportunities in wastewater treatment. He also toured the facilities of the Anglian Water Company to learn about experience in water supply, sewerage and wastewater treatment in the east of England.
