PORTFOLIO IN PROMOTION THROUGH OXI CONSISTS OF 371 INVESTMENTS FOR MORE THAN S/ 13,000 MILLION
Lima, May 15, 2023.- The Private Investment Promotion Agency (PROINVERSIÓN) reported that to date the amount of investments of Works for Taxes in search of private companies is 371 for an estimated amount of more than S/ 13,000 million.
Of this total, 35 have already been prioritized by public entities for S/ 502 million; 12 are in previous acts for S/ 230 million; and 12 investments, with an estimated investment of S/ 317 million, already have the previous reports in search of private companies that can finance their execution. The others (312) for S/ 12,008 million are to be prioritized, in idea or in formulation (for more detail see table in Annex).
In terms of amounts, the initiatives correspond to sectors such as transport (37%), education (27%), health (9%), management (7%), public order and security (5%), among others, in the field of public entities, mainly ministries, regional governments, local governments and public universities.
Among the entities that have the largest number and amounts of investments in search of private companies to execute by Works for Taxes we have the Regional Government of Cusco, with an investment amount of S/ 5,306 million in 34 investments, the Ministry of Education with S/ 2,447 million in 114 investments and the Regional Government of Arequipa with 11 investments for S/ 978 million, among others.
PROINVERSIÓN has been providing advice and technical assistance to entities of the National Government (ministries), regional and local governments and universities to develop high-impact investments that can be executed through the Works for Taxes mechanism. It has also been strengthening promotional efforts in coordination with each of the public entities through investment promotion events.
The goal of public entities by this year (2023) is to award at least 19 projects through Works for Taxes, for more than S/ 620 million. To date so far in 2023, two projects have been awarded for S / 34 million, which correspond to the Ministry of Education (MINEDU) who awarded the company Minera Las Bambas S.A. the project "Improvement and Expansion of the Educational Service of Pre-school Level No. 759, Elementary Level E.I. No. 50833 Antonio Cano Cáceres and Pumamarca High School Level of the District of Tambobamba - Province of Cotabambas - Department of Apurimac" for more than S /. 30 million, which will directly benefit 4,756 students in the region of Apurimac; and the second, to the District Municipality of Kosñipata who awarded the company COSEHO S.R.L. the project "Improvement of the urban mobility service in the streets Coronel Fernández, Coronel Parra and San Francisco of the Town Center of Pillcopata, district of Kosñipata, Paucartambo, Cusco" for S / 3.7 million.
"Our expectation is to far exceed the goal, as there are large projects on which ProInversión has been providing advice and technical assistance that could be awarded this year. These projects include the improvement and expansion of the drinking water and sewerage systems of Pucusana (S/ 276 million), the COAR of Chalhuanca in Apurimac (S/ 77 million), the COAR of Cajamarca (S/ 79 million), the Santa Rosa Bridge (S/ 348 million) and the Improvement and Expansion of the Services of the Regional Hospital of Huaraz, private initiative close to having viability in Invierte.pe (for an approximate amount of S / 1000 million)," said the Director of Decentralized Investments of ProInversión, Denisse Miralles.
