Proinversion promotes the development of seven health projects for approximately $2,000 million
Lima, August 15, 2025.- The Private Investment Promotion Agency – PROINVERSIÓN, together with the competent public entities, has been promoting seven projects in the Health sector, for more than $2 000 million, through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) modality. The objective is to strengthen health services and infrastructure in Lima, Piura and Cajamarca, ensuring more efficient and quality care for people.
So far this year, the agency has already awarded the “Operation and Maintenance of the New Villa El Salvador Emergency Hospital – HEVES” project, a PPP co-financed by the Ministry of Health that will benefit nearly one million residents of South Lima (Villa El Salvador, Lurín, Pachacamac, Pucusana, and five beach districts).
Within the current portfolio, the project "Operation and Maintenance of the National Institute of Child Health - San Borja (INSN-SB)" stands out, which already has 12 interested companies. These acquired the right of participation and submitted queries to the bases and comments to the PPP contract. A private operator will manage the “gray coat” services (infrastructure and electromechanical equipment maintenance, laundry, cleaning, food, and security) and the “green coat” services (sterilization and clinical pathology). The contract, with a term of 17 years, provides for the replacement of hospital equipment.
Another relevant project is the new Central Military Hospital, promoted on behalf of the Ministry of Defense (MINDEF). This is a Co-financed Unsolicited Proposal, with its declaration of interest scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2025 and the award expected in 2026. With an amount of US$ 442 million and a term of 30 years, the concessionaire will be responsible for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of a state-of-the-art hospital, as well as the "grey coat" and "green coat" services. It will benefit 300 thousand military personnel and their beneficiaries.
In coordination with the Ministry of Health, PROINVERSIÓN is also promoting the Modernization of the Hipólito Unanue Hospital (“Bravo Chico”), which includes the construction of a new hospital, comprehensive equipment and its replacement during the contract, as well as the maintenance and operation of general services. This project will benefit 3.1 million inhabitants as a reference population of the direct area of influence and approximately 400 thousand people as an Effective Demanding Population
In Piura, the Operation and Maintenance of Sullana Support Hospital II – 2 is promoted, with an estimated investment of US$ 193 million. The project will guarantee the maintenance of infrastructure and equipment, in addition to the operation of "grey coat" services (cleaning, security, laundry, food, waste management, logistics, IT and sterilization) and "green coat" (laboratory, hemodialysis and imaging). Its coverage will reach 645 thousand people.
In Cajamarca, the Operation and Maintenance of the EsSalud Specialized Hospital is promoted, with an estimated investment of US$ 189 million. It includes "grey coat" and "green coat" services similar to the Sullana project, benefiting the insured population of the region.
Also included in the portfolio is the Integrated Solid Waste Management of Ministry of Health facilities in Metropolitan Lima, a co-financed unsolicited proposal for US$ 179 million with a 20-year concession. It includes the construction, operation and maintenance of facilities for the treatment of special and bio contaminated solid waste, benefiting 430 health facilities.
In parallel, PROINVERSIÓN plans to incorporate 13 new health projects through PPPs in Loreto, Piura, Lambayeque and Huánuco, for which it has been coordinating with regional governments.
The growing portfolio of health projects reflects the interest of public entities in using the PPP modality, which allows efficient management, with international standards and ensuring that the State remains the owner and responsible for free care for citizens.
