12 companies interested in operation and maintenance of the National Institute of Child Health - SB
Lima, August 13, 2025.- The Private Investment Promotion Agency – PROINVERSIÓN reports that 12 national and foreign companies have shown interest in the project "Operation and Maintenance of the National Institute of Child Health - San Borja (INSN-SB)".
The companies have purchased their right to participate and have already complied with submitting their queries to the competition rules and their comments to the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) contract.
The date for the submission of pre-qualification envelopes (envelope No. 1) is scheduled for September 2025. The result of the bidders’ prequalification will be announced in November, and the award of the Successful Bid is scheduled for the first quarter of 2026.
Following the call for tender for the Comprehensive Projects Tender held in May 2025, the final version of the management contract is currently being drafted. Its components include the obligations of the private party and the State (Ministry of Health), the economic framework with availability payments, service levels and performance indicators, supervision and control, risk matrix, dispute resolution, termination clauses, among others.
The objective of the process is the selection of a Service Operator with extensive experience in the management of hospital services to be responsible for the financing and tuning of infrastructure and equipment, as well as the operation and maintenance of "grey coat" and "green coat" services that cover a range of services both in the clinical field and in the maintenance of infrastructure.
In the "grey coat" area, the private operator will assume the maintenance of the electromechanical infrastructure and equipment, as well as laundry, cleaning, food and safety services, ensuring an optimal environment for patients and staff. In the "green coat", it will provide sterilization and clinical pathology services, keeping specialized medical equipment operational and guaranteeing modern technology throughout the contract. A key aspect in the new contract will be the replacement of hospital equipment during the term of the contract, ensuring continuous technological updating and greater efficiency.
Among the benefits of the project are: better quality of care thanks to modern and operational equipment, long-term continuity of services, cost reduction through new technologies and automation, and quality assurance through indicators and permanent monitoring.
Through this management contract via the PPP mechanism, resources will be optimized, equipment and infrastructure will be modernized and high standards will be maintained in the care of pediatric patients, the core of this initiative. The PPP model, already successful in the INSN-SB, has contributed to reducing infant mortality, and also guarantees the sustainability of the service; the free medical services will continue to be provided by the State (MINSA).
