PROINVERSIÓN promotes investment opportunities of more than US$70 billion in USA
Lima, May 9, 2025.- As part of the visit of the Peruvian official delegation to the city of Salt Lake City, Utah (USA). at the "Crossroads of the World International Trade Summit 2025" in the United States, the executive director of PROINVERSIÓN, Luis Del Carpio, presented investment opportunities in Peru worth more than US$ 70 billion.
During the Round Table with leaders of the Mining and Construction sector in Utah, the head of PROINVERSIÓN highlighted the macroeconomic strength of our country and the vast experience in the development of mining projects worth US$ 7,321 million (excluding VAT) in the period 2002 – 2024; as well as the rebound of concessions under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) modality, positioning Peru as a strategic destination for sustainable foreign investment. He emphasized that only in the 2023 – 2024 period, the agency awarded 30 projects worth more than US$ 11 billion.
Del Carpio noted that for the year 2025, PROINVERSIÓN promotes 34 initiatives in PPP and Projects in Assets of high social and economic impact in Sanitation, Health, Education, Transportation, Real Estate, Tourism and Energy for US$ 8,829 million.
Regarding the portfolio for the year 2026, he indicated that it includes 46 projects worth US$ 8,282 million in key sectors such as Transportation, Telecommunications, Hydrocarbons, Electricity, Sanitation, Health and Education, which are expected to be executed through the PPP modality and Projects in Assets.
At the same time, he announced 14 major irrigation initiatives worth US$ 21.1 billion and 13 new projects that will be submitted to PROINVERSIÓN for structuring and promotion, worth US$ 19.3 billion, including Lines 3 and 4 of the Lima Metro; 10 regional cable cars, and the Marcona-Andahuaylas train. In addition, he highlighted the advance of investments with the signing of 12 addendums to existing PPP contracts, totaling more than US$ 15 billion.
During the summit in Salt Lake City, the executive director of PROINVERSIÓN, Luis Del Carpio, also held discussions with various institutional and business stakeholders about the potential of PPPs and infrastructure financing in Peru, including: Jeff Flake, former federal senator, ambassador, and chairman of the board of the World Trade Center Utah; executives from JP Morgan Chase; Gary Herbert, former governor of Utah; Mark Garfield, vice president of International Banking at Zions Bank; and Golden Moore, international vice president at Bank of America.
Similarly, he held working meetings on foreign trade, exports, and regional investment in strategic Peruvian sectors with Spencer Cox, Governor of Utah; Derek Miller, President of the Utah Chamber of Commerce; as well as with Jonathan Freedman and Ben Kolander from the World Trade Center Utah.
Del Carpio considered that "these spaces are key for positioning high-impact projects and bringing new investment opportunities that transform the regions, while also strengthening institutional and business ties to boost economic exchange with the United States."
