PROINVERSIÓN promotes 105 Works for Taxes projects in Cusco, totaling S/ 1.284 billion
Lima, July 11, 2025.- Public entities in the Cusco region have a portfolio of 105 projects involving an investment of S/ 1.284 billion to be executed through the Works for Taxes (OxI) mechanism, according to the Private Investment Promotion Agency (PROINVERSIÓN).
To promote these projects and the OxI mechanism to financing and executing companies, the agency held the event “Works for Taxes – Municipalities that drive transformation,” with the participation of 23 public entities from Cusco, including provincial and district municipalities.
The presentation of the Works for Taxes investment portfolio of Cusco’s municipalities was led by Ceida Rosell, Deputy Director of the Directorate of Decentralized Investments at PROINVERSIÓN; while the event’s closing remarks were delivered by Edhy Alberto Vergara, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Services, Tourism, and Production of Cusco.
As part of the event, the provincial and district municipalities of Cusco presented their project portfolios at dedicated exhibition stands.
The following participated in the event: The Provincial Municipality of Anta, the District Municipality of Huarocondo, the Provincial Municipality of Cusco, the District Municipality of San Sebastián, the District Municipality of Santiago, the Provincial Municipality of Espinar, the District Municipality of Ccoporaque, the District Municipality of Oropesa, the District Municipality of Cusipata, and the Provincial Municipality of Canas. The District Municipality of Huancarani, the District Municipality of Colquepata, the Provincial Municipality of Urubamba, the District Municipality of Maras, the District Municipality of Ollantaytambo, the District Municipality of Machupicchu, the Provincial Municipality of La Convención, the District Municipality of Ocobamba, the District Municipality of Echarati, the District Municipality of Kimbiri, the District Municipality of Pichari, the District Municipality of Kumpirushiato, and the District Municipality of Megantoni.
It is worth noting that, at the territorial level, the Cusco region has a potential of S/ 9.376 billion to execute projects through the Works for Taxes mechanism. This amount is the highest at the national level, according to the annual allocation made by the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF). Of the total available amount, the Regional Government of Cusco has S/ 1.711 billion, local governments have S/ 7.145 billion, and public universities in Cusco have S/ 520 million.
Since 2009 to date, 101 Works for Taxes projects have been awarded and/or executed in Cusco, for a total amount of S/ 1.175 billion. Meanwhile, at the national level, public entities have awarded 734 investments totaling more than S/ 13.354 billion.
