Organized by the World Economic Forum, Castillo reaffirmed his commitment to "continue to carry out a responsible management of the economy, guaranteeing legal stability and clear rules."

"Our government takes advantage of this meeting to invite national businessmen and foreign entrepreneurs to invest in Peru," the president said.

He also added that the country "ensures a climate of trust" and seeks to develop especially "the energy sector, with the massification of natural gas, and transport to expand physical and digital connectivity throughout the country."

On the eagerness of his Government to "renegotiate some contracts for the benefit of the population," such as the case of the consortium of companies that exploits the Camisea gas field, one of the largest in Latin America, Castillo insisted that this process is developed through "an open, transparent dialogue and within the current constitutional framework."

The head of Government also mentioned the effort of his administration to promote a "sustainable and inclusive" economic recovery and stressed that, according to estimates, Peru would have led economic growth in Latin America after registering in 2021 an expansion of its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of 13%.

"We have allocated approximately US$ 10,000 million for public investment in strategic areas such as the Education, Transport and Health sector," he said.

Specifically, he highlighted the investment of US $ 1,000 million for the acquisition of 70 million anti-COVID vaccines, which allowed the country to reach 84% of the target population immunized with the complete guideline.

After recalling that the "precarious" Peruvian health system led the country to boast the highest mortality rate worldwide due to COVID-19, the president announced that by 2022 around 55 million additional doses are expected to arrive to continue advancing with the vaccination campaign.
