PROINVERSIÓN INCORPORATES INTO THE PROMOTION PROCESS TWO SANITATION PROJECTS FOR MORE THAN US$100 MI

These are Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP) in Cajamarca (US$ 58 million) and Cusco (US$ 46 million), which will benefit more than 720,000 people.
The Private Investment Promotion Agency incorporated into the private investment promotion process the Cajamarca WWTP and Cusco WWTP sanitation projects, that will require an estimated investment of US$ 104 million.

Cajamarca WWTP (US$ 58 million without VAT) will provide an efficient and sustainable wastewater treatment and disposal service of the city of Cajamarca, specifically in the districts of Cajamarca and Baños del Inca, benefiting 352,000 people. The implementation of this project will improve health conditions and disease reduction in the area by reducing pollution in the Mashcon and Chonta; it will also energize local tourism and increase land values.

Cusco WWTP (US$ 46 million without VAT) will provide an efficient and sustainable wastewater treatment and disposal service for the city of Cusco, benefiting 375,000 people. The implementation of this project will improve health conditions and help reduce acute diarrhoeal diseases, reduce river pollution and promote tourism in the area.

Both projects will be promoted under the Co-financed Private Initiative modality, that is, they will require partial financing from the Government through the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation. The Declaration of Interest for these projects is expected to be published in the fourth quarter of 2023.
