PERU: PROINVERSIÓN IS ENTRUSTED WITH THE BIDDING PROCESS FOR 18 ELECTRICITY TRANSMISSION PROJECTS
Lima, February 18, 2023.- The Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem) entrusted The Private Investment Promotion Agency (ProInversión) with the public bidding of 18 binding projects of the 2023-2032 Transmission Plan, according to Ministerial Resolution 055-2023-Minem/DM, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano.
The list of 18 projects includes: 500 kV Chilca CTM - Carabayllo Link, Transformer Substation Expansion and Air Core Reactor in Chilca CTM Substation; 500/220 kV Bicentenario Nueva Substation, expansions and associated substations; and Poroma "Hub" Nueva Substation (First Stage) and 500 kV "Hub" Poroma - Colectora Link, expansions and associated substations.
Likewise, the San José "Hub" Nueva Substation - First Stage and 220 kV "Hub" San José Link - Distribution (Arequipa), extensions and associated substations; 220 kV Chavarría - Santa Rosa - Carapongo 220 kV Link Reconfiguration, lines, extensions and associated substations; and the 220 kV Muyurina Nueva Substation, Ayacucho Nueva Substation, 220 kV Muyurina Ayacucho TL, extensions and associated substations.
In addition, the 220 kV Palca Nueva substation, 220 kV Palca-La Pascana TL, expansions and associated substations (Arequipa); 220 kV Aguaytía - Pucallpa link, substations, lines and associated expansions; 138-60 kV reliability increase of the Tarma - Chanchamayo electric system; and 220 kV Planicie - Industriales link, expansion to third circuit.
Also, the 138 kV Nueva Virú - Trujillo Sur link, expansions and associated substations; capacity and reliability increase (Criterion N-1) of the Huaraz Electric System Supply; 138 kV Yaros - Amarilis link (second circuit); Supply Capacity Extension of the Ica Electric System; Marcona II Nueva Substation and 138 kV Marcona II - San Isidro (Bella Unión) - Pampa (Chala) Link, extensions and associated substations.
Likewise, the 138 kV Abancay Nueva – Andahuaylas Link, extensions and associated substations; the 138 kV San Román – Yocara – Maravilla (Juliaca) Link, extensions and associated substations; and the 138 kV Derivación San Rafael - Ananea Link, extensions and associated substations.
Promotion processes
The regulation also requires the Directorate of Electricity (DGE) of the Minem to provide ProInversión with the necessary information for the development of the investment promotion processes to be carried out for the concession of the aforementioned projects.
It should be noted that the Transmission Plan is the periodic study that identifies, through a centralized analysis, the transmission equipment requirements necessary to maintain or improve the quality, reliability, safety or economy of the National Electric Interconnected System (SEIN).
This, for an outlook of no more than ten years, which considers the various scenarios of generation expansion and future demand growth.
The Minem emphasizes that the execution of these projects will guarantee the security of the electricity supply and the quality of service on a national scale, allowing all Peruvians to have an efficient and reliable electricity service.
This ministerial resolution is countersigned by the head of the Ministry of Energy and Mines, Oscar Vera Gargurevich.
