FOUR TOP BIDDERS FOR ESSALUD'S HOSPITAL TENDERS IN PIURA AND CHIMBOTE
PROINVERSIÓN informs that after a rigorous evaluation process, four bidders from the Americas and Europe pre-qualified to compete in the international tender for the concession of two ESSALUD hospital projects in the cities of Piura and Chimbote (Ancash) under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) co-financed modality.
These are three companies and one consortium, with global operations, that obtained the condition of bidders after accrediting technical experience in construction, experience in hospital operation and financial solvency, as established in the Bidding Terms and Conditions. In this respect, their participation demonstrates the confidence of private companies to develop long-term investments in Peru, through projects promoted by PROINVERSIÓN.
The projects include the design, financing, construction, equipment, operation and maintenance of two specialized hospitals in Piura and Chimbote, and the provision of complementary services (non-medical), which will serve the insured population of the departments of Ancash, Piura and Tumbes, benefiting more than 1.6 million users.
The execution of the EsSalud’s Hospital of Piura and Chimbote projects requires a combined investment of more than S/. 1,000 million over the concession period (20 years). The successful bid is expected to be awarded in the First Half of 2023.
The prequalified bidders for both the EsSalud’s Hospital of Piura and Chimbote have developed projects in North America, South America, Asia, Africa, Europe and Oceania:

ABOUT THE PROJECTS
The project "Creation of specialized health services of the Specialized Hospital in the Piura Assistance Network of ESSALUD, district of Veintiséis de Octubre, province of Piura, department of Piura", contemplates the design, financing, construction, equipment, operation and maintenance of a specialized hospital. It will benefit 1'116,559 insured persons in the departments of Piura and Tumbes.
The project "Creation of specialized health services of the Chimbote Specialized Hospital in the Ancash Assistance Network of ESSALUD, district of Nuevo Chimbote, province of Santa, department of Ancash", contemplates the design, financing, construction, equipment, operation and maintenance of a specialized hospital and a polyclinic of increasing complexity. In addition, a temporary hospital will be built to guarantee the continuity of services during the construction of the definitive infrastructure. This project will benefit 531,966 insured persons in the department of Ancash, who will continue to receive free health care.
Both projects also include the acquisition and replacement of equipment, maintenance of hospital infrastructure, as well as the provision of general services and support services in gray coat mode (10 services, including laundry, food, security, solid waste management and handling, cleaning, maintenance, equipment acquisition and maintenance, and intra-hospital logistics) and green coat mode (3 services: hemodialysis, clinical laboratory and imaging). It should be noted that the projects do not consider the provision of medical services, as these will continue to be provided by the Government, through ESSALUD personnel.
The concession term is 20 years, consisting of three (3) years for the development of definitive engineering studies, construction and implementation of the equipment and 17 years of operation and maintenance.
