PROINVERSIÓN: Five international operators are competing for the contract to operate and maintain the Sullana Hospital

The US$ 162 million PPP project will guarantee, for 17 years, the specialized operation, comprehensive maintenance, and technological replacement of the hospital for the benefit of more than 650,000 people in Piura.

Lima, May 11, 2026 – The Private Investment Promotion Agency (PROINVERSIÓN) reported that the process to award the operation and maintenance of the Sullana Support Hospital II-2 is advancing to a key stage, with five international operators interested in the project. Likewise, it was indicated that the deadline for submitting comments and proposals for improvements to the contract is May 29, within the framework of the ongoing International Public Tender.

The project contemplates an estimated investment of US$ 162 million and will strengthen hospital care for more than 650,000 residents of Sullana, Tambogrande, Las Lomas, Talara, and Ayabaca. This stage is key because it will allow for the optimization of contractual conditions before the award, ensuring clear rules, high operating standards, and sustainable implementation for the benefit of the population.

The aim of the tender is to select a specialized operator to handle the comprehensive management of the hospital infrastructure, equipment maintenance, and the provision of clinical support services, such as laboratory, sterilization, imaging, and hemodialysis, while the State will maintain free medical care.
The project, developed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, will guarantee the continuous operation of the hospital, technological replacement and comprehensive maintenance of the hospital infrastructure for 17 years.

With this process, PROINVERSIÓN continues to strengthen its new role of technical support and coordination with the market to accelerate strategic projects, ensure better contractual conditions and guarantee modern and sustainable hospital infrastructure for the population.
