PROINVERSIÓN: Spanish companies participate in 34 strategic PPP projects worth US$ 12.516 billion

A total of 26 companies from Spain are part of the public–private project concession that is modernizing transportation, improving sanitation and health services, and strengthening the country's electricity supply.

Lima, September 16, 2026.- The Private Investment Promotion Agency (PROINVERSIÓN), attached to the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), reported that 26 Spanish companies are participating in 34 Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects and Projects in Assets worth US$ 12.516 billion, consolidating Spain as an important partner for the development of infrastructure and public services in Peru.

The Spanish business presence extends to strategic sectors such as road and rail transport, sanitation, healthcare, electricity, and real estate infrastructure, with projects that directly impact the quality of life of millions of Peruvians.

Among the flagship investments are the Lima and Callao Metro Line 2 and the Av. Faucett–Av. Gambetta branch, valued at US$ 5.075 billion, with the participation of Iridium; and the Road Ring, valued at US$ 3.396 billion, whose concessionaires include Sacyr, Acciona, and Cintra.

Other notable projects include the Taboada Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), operated by Tedagua, with an investment of US$ 269 million, which enables the treatment of more than 50% of the wastewater generated in Lima and Callao; the operation and maintenance of the New Villa El Salvador Emergency Hospital, with an investment of US$ 284 million and the participation of Grupo Ortiz; and the 500 kV Piura Nueva Substation–Border Transmission Line, with an investment of US$ 223 million, awarded under a concession to Celeo.

During the dialogue organized by the Spain–Peru Foundation and the Embassy of Spain in Peru, the Executive President of PROINVERSIÓN, Luis Del Carpio, highlighted the importance of continuing to strengthen the participation of Spanish companies in projects that help close infrastructure gaps, improve public services, and create new development opportunities.

Luis Del Carpio also reported that PROINVERSIÓN has a portfolio of 85 PPP and Projects in Assets projects, as well as six contract amendments, representing US$ 42 billion in investment opportunities for the 2026–2030 period, with significant opportunities in transportation, agriculture and irrigation, water and sanitation, hydrocarbons, and healthcare.

PERU, AN ATTRACTIVE MARKET

PROINVERSIÓN highlighted that Peru maintains competitive conditions to attract long-term investment: it has 26 trade agreements that connect it with more than 65 economies, average annual GDP growth of over 3%, free competition, and free flow of capital. In addition, it has signed more than 600 Legal Stability Agreements, strengthening predictability for investors.
