The Special Continuous Improvement Award granted by Ciudadanos al Día (BPG Award) highlights the contribution of the Works for Taxes mechanism, promoted by PROINVERSIÓN, which enables companies to gain firsthand experience working jointly with the State and making projects a reality—projects that transform communities across the country.
Between January and October 2025, over S/ 3,400 million was awarded, as a result of coordinated efforts between PROINVERSIÓN and public entities to improve the country’s infrastructure and public services.
At the agreement signing ceremony, which was attended by the head of PROINVERSIÓN, Luis Del Carpio; the district mayor of Caraybamba, Jhon Anchayhua Segoviau and the director of Decentralized Investments, Denisse Miralles, the importance of the OxI mechanism to accelerate the closing of gaps in the town of Apurimac was highlighted.
The Private Investment Promotion Agency (PROINVERSIÓN) reports that the National Penitentiary Institute (INPE), an entity attached to the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights (MINJUSDH), plans to execute six major penitentiary infrastructure projects nationwide through the Works for Taxes (OxI) mechanism, with an estimated investment of S/ 1,182 million.
In Works for Taxes, a record has been set between January and March 2025, with public entities (ministries, regional governments, local governments, and public universities) awarding 64 investments worth S/ 387 million, marking a historic record.
In the first quarter of 2025, public entities (ministries, regional governments, local governments, and public universities) awarded 64 investments worth S/ 387 million. The amount awarded is 133% more than in the first quarter of 2024 (S/ 166 million).
As part of the decentralized work, the executive director of the Private Investment Promotion Agency - PROINVERSIÓN, Luis Del Carpio, visited Tacna to promote among authorities and investors, a portfolio in Public-Private Partnership (PPP), Projects in Assets (PA) for US$ 233 million and Works for Taxes (OxI) with a potential of S/ 1254 million through Regional and Local Public Investment Certificates - Public Treasury (CIPRL).
At a press conference, the Private Investment Promotion Agency - PROINVERSIÓN and the Peruvian Institute of Sport (IPD) announced that the Operation and Maintenance of five sports venues managed by the Special Legacy Project will be executed through the Works for Taxes (OxI) mechanism.
Intending to promote sustainable development in the regions, the Regional Commonwealth of the Andes made up of Apurímac, Ayacucho, Cusco, Huancavelica, Ica and Junín, presented 85 investment projects through Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), Projects in Assets (PAs) and Works for Taxes, with a total investment of S/ 8341 million.
The executive director of the Private Investment Promotion Agency - PROINVERSIÓN, Luis Del Carpio, highlighted the importance of the Works for Taxes (OxI) to accelerate the closing of infrastructure gaps since Peru currently has the capacity to finance projects for more than S/ 33 billion through this mechanism.
