PROINVERSIÓN promotes amendments worth US$ 8.3 billion to expand and modernize the country’s key infrastructure

The agreements will allow the acceleration of investments to benefit more than 10 million Peruvians across 11 regions nationwide.

Lima, January 21, 2026.- The Private Investment Promotion Agency – PROINVERSIÓN is promoting eight amendments to Public-Private Partnership (PPP) contracts that will enable the acceleration of investments totaling US$ 8.3 billion, expand capacity, and extend infrastructure, thereby accelerating their social and economic impact across 11 regions of the country.

These amendments are part of the 2026 investment portfolio and cover projects in key sectors such as health, transport, energy, road, port, and hydrocarbons infrastructure, in coordination with entities such as the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Ministry of Energy and Mines, and EsSalud.

“Amendments are a legitimate and necessary tool that allow us to accelerate investments, expand infrastructure, and respond more quickly to the population’s needs. Through these actions, more than 10 million Peruvians will gain access to modern, higher-quality services,” stated PROINVERSIÓN’s Executive Director, Luis Del Carpio.

DIRECT IMPACT ON HEALTH, TRANSPORT, AND ENERGY

In the health sector, the modernization of the Trecca Tower will strengthen specialized healthcare services for more than 5 million insured individuals, while the expansion of the Salog pharmaceutical logistics system will enable the Farmacia Vecina program to increase its coverage from 120,000 to 500,000 insured individuals per month, bringing healthcare services closer to more families.

In terms of transport and mobility, the expansion of Lima Metro Line 1 will increase its daily capacity from 600,000 to one million users, improving service quality and reducing travel times. In addition, the expansion of the second group of regional airports will raise service levels in Arequipa, Tacna, Ayacucho, Puno, and Madre de Dios, benefiting more than one million residents.

Likewise, the modernization and expansion of strategic road corridors—such as Road Network 5—will be promoted, strengthening road safety, logistics efficiency, and regional connectivity in the northern part of the country.

In the energy and strategic infrastructure sector, the expansion of natural gas distribution networks will extend the country’s most affordable energy service to more than 150,000 new households through the installation of over 2,000 kilometers of networks. In parallel, key port services for the unloading and transport of hydrocarbons will be strengthened, along with the expansion of the gas transportation system to the southern macro-region, involving more than 900 kilometers of pipelines that will drive regional productive development.

Through this investment acceleration package, PROINVERSIÓN consolidates its role as the State’s technical coordinator, promoting modern infrastructure, quality services, and decentralized development for the benefit of the country.
