Lima, March 23, 2026.- The Private Investment Promotion Agency (PROINVERSIÓN) is making progress in structuring seven strategic roadway corridors that exceed US$1 billion in investment, as part of its 2026 portfolio aimed at strengthening national connectivity and improving road infrastructure in various regions of the country.
Within this framework, the Agency conducted market sounding with investors to present Group 1 of road projects and gather market input to optimize the structuring and accelerate the development under solid technical and financial standards. This portfolio comprises seven corridors located in Junín, Áncash, Pasco, Huánuco, San Martín, Cusco, Puno, Arequipa and Moquegua, which will benefit more than 2.8 million citizens.
The first project corresponds to the operation and maintenance of the Atico – Quilca Turnoff – Matarani – Ilo / Cocachacra Turnoff – Ventillata highway, which runs through Arequipa and Moquegua for 389 kilometers, strengthening the logistical connectivity of the south of the country for the benefit of more than 176,000 users.
The second project comprises the Las Vegas – Mazamari – Puerto Ocopa Turnoff / Tarma – Jauja / Puente Stuart – Huancayo / Mazamari – Cubantía route, a 432-kilometer corridor that integrates six provinces of the Junín department and will improve connectivity for more than 747,000 people.
Another project is the Cusco – Pisac / Urubamba – Chinchero – Cachimayo / Huacarpay – Ollantaytambo – Santa Teresa Turnoff corridor, a 285-kilometer road that will benefit approximately 520,000 citizens and contribute to the development of the region’s tourist circuit.
Also included is the operation and maintenance project of the Carrizales Bridge (Casma) – Pariacoto – Huaraz – Tourist Circuit (Viewpoint) road, a 163.8-kilometer road in Áncash that will benefit around 250,000 users and improve access to important tourist destinations.
The portfolio also includes road corridor 4, which covers the section from Junction with national route 18A (Tingo María Detour) – Aucayacu – Nuevo Progreso – Tocache – Juanjuí – Picota – Tarapoto, with a length of 458 kilometers between Huánuco and San Martín, which will improve transit conditions for more than 431,000 inhabitants.
Similarly, road corridor 6 is considered: The Cerro de Pasco – Huánuco – Tingo María Junction – connecting with the PE-5N national highway (Pumahuasi Bridge), with a length of 248 kilometers in Pasco and Huánuco, will benefit approximately 358,000 people.
The seventh project corresponds to the Sicuani – Pucará – Calapuja / Puno – Desaguadero road, a 328-kilometer corridor that runs through Cusco and Puno and will improve the road infrastructure for more than 400,000 users, strengthening the connectivity of the southern Andes.
These seven projects will be developed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) modality, within the framework of the PPP 5.0 approach, which promotes more predictable processes, clear rules and greater articulation with the market to accelerate the execution of sustainable infrastructure.
With this initiative, PROINVERSIÓN reaffirms its role in promoting strategic road projects, aimed at ensuring roads in good condition, improving transport safety, reducing travel times and contributing to the country’s economic development and territorial integration.
