In the second half of 2024, the Private Investment Promotion Agency (PROINVERSIÓN) plans to award 17 projects, worth more than US$ 3 billion, through the modalities of Public-Private Partnerships and Projects in Assets in strategic sectors such as electricity, sanitation, road, rail, health and industrial development.
Only in the first half of the year, public entities awarded 28 projects for a record S/ 1631 million, the highest amount since the OxI mechanism was launched 16 years ago. As a breakthrough, only in the first week of July, seven projects were awarded.
The Private Investment Promotion Agency - PROINVERSIÓN initiated the structuring of the projects "3.5 GHz Frequency Band (3,300 - 3,400 MHz and 3600 - 3,800 MHz)" and "26 GHz Frequency Band (25.9 - 26.7 GHz)" that will allow to provide 5G mobile telephony and internet services nationwide.
In the next two months, the Private Investment Promotion Agency - PROINVERSIÓN plans to award four investment projects in Public-Private Partnership and Projects in Assets that will generate investments of US$ 1 761 million in electricity, transport, mining and sanitation in the country.
The amount corresponds to the maximum annual capacity limits of public entities for the issuance of Regional and Local Public Investment Certificates - Public Treasury (CIPRL) that allow projects and investments to be executed through Works for Taxes (OxI) and includes resources distributed by fee, excess fee, royalties, customs revenues and participations; ordinary resources from budgetary expenditure and the Regional Compensation Fund (FONCOR).
The social project will be built through the Works for Taxes (OxI) mechanism with an estimated investment of S/ 921 million, in an area of 7 500 square meters and the infrastructure will have 11 floors and six (6) basements; it will have the conditions for differentiated oncological care for children and adolescents, fully equipped and with modern hospital technology.
Consortium formed by WIN Empresas S.A.C. and Soluciones Alimenticias S.A.C., winners of the award of the project for the "Improvement and Expansion of Hospital Health Services care in Víctor Ramos Guardia - Huaraz" for an estimated investment of S/ 1 099 million, is the largest amount prioritized through the mechanism of Works for Taxes (OxI) in the history of the country.
The objective of the process is to guarantee the sustainability of health infrastructure, equipment and public services with high-quality standards through a Public-Private Partnership contract where indicators to be monitored and supervised are established.
Group 1 consists of three projects aimed at improving the quality of the electrical transmission system in the south such as the (I) Poroma Hub Nueva Substation and 500 kV "Hub" Poroma - Colectora link", (II) San José Hub Nueva Substation - First Stage and 220 kV "Hub" San José Link - Repartición (Arequipa)" and (III) the Marcona II Nueva Substation and 138 kV Marcona II - San Isidro (Bella Unión) - Pampa (Chala) Link.
