November 29, 2021. Lima, Peru.- The Minister of Economy and Finance, Pedro Francke, stressed the need to insist on the promotion of private investment and the search for more social justice, in a path of concertation.
He said that the Executive has affirmed in its messages the respect for private property, the promotion of private investment and the respect for legal stability.
He indicated that the president of the Republic, Pedro Castillo, the president of the Council of Ministers, Mirtha Vásquez, as well as himself in his capacity as head of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), have insisted on that same message of respect for private property.
"I believe that we must persist in a path of concertation and promotion of private investment and seek more social justice," he said on Latina TV. On the other hand, he said that, if Congress does not grant him the legislative powers in tax matters, the MEF will insist through dialogue with the congressmen on the need for the Executive to have greater resources.
"Peru has an unmet level of demand for water, schools, health, transportation that we need greater public resources, we have a huge need, but we cannot do it with a fiscal deficit in an irresponsible way," he said. "We must insist on communicating and dialoguing with the congressmen, so that this goes ahead, insisting that this is about collaborating for the good of the country, and that we are ready to clarify, work in the best way together," he added.
