Based on its increasing demand for the electromobility industry, lithium has drawn the attention of the world and Peru. Up to this moment, this mineral has been found in Puno on the Macusani plateau.
However, lithium would not only be found in this region. At the last convention of 2021 of Prospectors Developers Association of Canada (PDAC), Ingemmet revealed that lithium-related rocks are also found in Cusco. Thus, Peru will contribute to the supply of this mineral used to build batteries for electric vehicles.
Meanwhile, in Huánuco and Junín, important anomalies of these minerals are reported. Likewise, there are anomalous concentrations of rare earth elements in the gold-related alluvial deposits in Madre de Dios.
