PROINVERSION PROMOTES PPP PROJECTS FOR US$ 6,300 MILLION TO INVESTORS FROM SINGAPORE, KOREA AND AUST
November 26, 2021. Lima, Peru.- The Private Investment Promotion Agency –PROINVERSIÓN continues to actively promote its portfolio of projects to capture the interest of potential global investors. For that reason, Peru participated in the webinars "Portfolio of Investment Opportunities in the Pacific Alliance", organized by the embassies of Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru, accredited in Singapore, South Korea and Australia respectively, in order to present to investors, from the countries of Asia and Oceania mentioned, the large portfolio of projects of Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) and Projects in Assets.
The presentation of the project portfolio was in charge of the director of Investor Services of PROINVERSIÓN, Alejandro Prieto, who highlighted the macroeconomic strengths of Peru and the system of Public-Private Partnerships (PPP); as well as the role of PROINVERSIÓN in the award of projects for US $ 34 billion in the last 19 years.
He specified that the portfolio of PPP projects and Projects in Assets of PROINVERSIÓN, for the period 2021-2022, consists of 20 projects for US$ 6300 million; as well as projects in the process of maturing for US $ 2000 million in sectors such as health, energy, tourism and education.
Among the awarding projects for next year, highlighted the Peripheral Ring Road (US $ 1965 million), Longitudinal of the Sierra Road - section 4 (US $ 709 million), Ancón Industrial Park (US $ 750 million), San Juan de Marcona Port Terminal (US $ 637 million), Headwater and Water Supply for Lima (US $ 480 million), Puerto Maldonado Wastewater Treatment Plant (US $ 55 million), the 500kv Transmission Line Piura Nueva-Frontera Substation (US $ 163.5 million), among other sanitation, energy and health projects.
"We are working hand in hand with the different sectors to meet our goal of awarding twelve government initiative projects and declaring of interest eight private initiative projects in our portfolio of mature projects by the end of 2022, for a total of approximately US $ 6300 million," said Alejandro Prieto, director of Investor Services at PROINVERSIÓN.
The webinars were organized with the support of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Enterprise of Singapore; the Korea Overseas Infrastructure & Urban Development Corporation (KIND) of South Korea; and the Australia-Latin America Business Council (ALABC) of Australia. These seminars respond to the common objective of the countries of the Pacific Alliance to promote investment flows with special emphasis on transport and sanitation projects.
