PPP PROJECT PORTFOLIO WAS PRESENTED TO CANADIAN INVESTORS
December 14, 2021. Lima, Peru.- The Private Investment Promotion Agency (PROINVERSIÓN) presented to Canadian investors the portfolio of Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) and Projects in Assets corresponding to the period 2022, in the webinar "Great investment opportunities in Peru", organized by the Embassy of Canada in Peru and the Embassy of Peru in Canada.
The event highlighted the projects that are currently in the transaction phase prior to the prequalification of interested parties to be awarded in 2022, in order to attract Canadian investors to participate as bidders and make each of the processes more competitive.
In this sense, the projects of the 500kV Piura Nueva – Frontera Substation Transmission Line (US$ 177 million); 220 kV Reque – Nueva Carhuaquero connection, expansion, and associated substations and Nueva Tumbes Substation and 60 kV Nueva Tumbes – Tumbes Transmission Line (US$ 31 million); ESSALUD hospital centers in Piura and ESSALUD in Chimbote (US$ 280 million); and the Ancon Industrial Park (US$ 750 million) were highlighted.
The executive director of PROINVERSIÓN, Rafael Ugaz, highlighted the great opportunities offered by the country to private investment in important sectors such as health, energy, sanitation and education. "Peru continues to be an attractive place for private investment, supported by our macroeconomic indicators and the favorable legal framework that provide security and confidence to investors," he stressed.
He specified that PROINVERSIÓN's portfolio of PPP projects and Projects in Assets, for the period 2021-2022, consists of 20 projects for US$ 6300 million; as well as 24 projects in the process of maturing for US$ 2100 million in sectors such as health, energy, tourism and education.
In addition to the five (5) projects mentioned, PROINVERSIÓN plans to award next year (2022) the Puerto Maldonado WWTP (US$ 56 million), AWS-3 Radio Spectrum Bands and 2.3 GHz (US$ 289 million) and call for tender the Longitudinal of the Sierra Road - section 4 (US$ 709 million), Header Works and Water Supply for Lima (US$ 480 million), among others. Likewise, it plans to approve Declarations of Interest of private initiatives such as the Peripheral Ring Road (US$ 1965 million), San Juan de Marcona Port Terminal (US$ 637 million), among others.
"In PROINVERSIÓN we continue to move forward, in coordination with the sectors, achieving goals and milestones in different processes with a clear sense of urgency. Our purpose is to award in the expected times to contribute to the closing of gaps, increase our competitiveness and improve the quality of life of Peruvians," said the executive director of PROINVERSIÓN.
