GDP TO GROW 34.4% IN THE SECOND QUARTER
Lima, May 24, 2021.- Peru’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) will register an expansion of 34.4% in the second quarter of this year, according to analysts at FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast LatinFocus.
This GDP advance was influenced by the increase in domestic demand, due to higher expenditures in private final consumption goods and services, and government consumption, as well as higher gross fixed investment, according to INEI.
FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast LatinFocus panelists estimated that the Peruvian economy will advance 7.6% in the third quarter of this year and 2.5% in the October-December 2021 period.
Quarterly forecast 2022
In the first and second quarter of 2022, the Peruvian economy will register an advance of 4.4% and 4.8% respectively, they forecast in their latest report of May 2021.
Peruvian GDP will grow 4.8% and 4.5% in the third and fourth quarters of next year respectively, estimated analysts at FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast LatinFocus.
